Antimicrobial Expert Advisory Group

Preety has over 20 years’ experience in clinical pharmacy and independent prescribing, spanning all healthcare interfaces and the criminal justice system.

She has worked for the Kent and Medway CCG as the Lead Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist, the Head of Quality for Primary and Local Care, and more recently as the interim Deputy SRO for the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme.

Preety led successful quality improvement workstreams such as the Antibiotic Guardian Award-winning AMS Campaign in Diagnostic Stewardship and the Medicines Optimisation Medication Review Programme. 

She is currently working for NHS England as the Regional Antimicrobial Stewardship Lead for the South East Region and leading on various national and regional Antimicrobial Prescribing and Medicines Optimisation (APMO) portfolios and workstreams encompassing Digital, Diagnostic and Dental stewardship, Heath Inequalities as well as Governance and Regulation.

She is the Chair of the NHSEI Regional Medicines Optimisation Committee (RMOC) APMO Subgroup (South East) and a member of the South East AMR/IPC Regional Programme Board, the South East RMOC, the ESPAUR Dental Group, the ESPAUR Oversight Group, the AMR Diagnostics Steering Group.
