Professional experience and particular interests:
As a Pre-Registration pharmacist and since qualifying, the bulk of Alisdair’s work was initially in the hospital sector. Having spent some time in rotational posts, he moved into oncology and aseptics.
In 2019, he moved into a medicines' optimisation role for a CCG, shortly before the announcement of primary care networks, which he then transferred to. He now co-leads a team of seven other pharmacists across a patient population of ~75,000.
His primary therapeutic interests include diabetes and associated metabolic disorders, as well as cardiovascular disease. Additionally, he enjoys working on service development and is in the process of developing better links with secondary care, particularly around acute frailty admissions.
