Professional experience and particular interests:
After changing career to primary care in 1998 Duncan helped set up the Primary Care Pharmacy Association to develop the role of pharmacists in general practice.
His PhD studied the effects of pharmacist led clinical medication review in general practice. On the back of this research he founded a company Prescribing Support Services (PSS) which was an early implementer of general practice clinical services.
His academic career is still very active with research interests in medication review, deprescribing and implementing prescribing behaviour change in general practice. At Bradford University Duncan has helped develop and run post graduate education for pharmacists new to primary care pharmacy and for those wanting to develop to becoming Advanced Practitioners.
