Professional experience and particular interests:
Since her work as a Pre-Registration pharmacist, Emma has worked in a variety of sectors including community, hospital and academia. She is undertaking her prescribing in Rheumatology and has a particular interest in this as part of her work.
As a student, she worked within University, focusing on teaching students and completing research around Dementia Friends training and implementation for healthcare students.
She then spent her initial qualified years working within a community pharmacy in South Tyneside, being involved with the local CCG and delivering pilot services such as atrial fibrillation screening and GP2P.
She currently splits her time between leading the outpatient pharmacy at Sunderland Royal hospital and undertaking pharmacist led clinics within the Rheumatology department. She will soon be leaving this role to become Senior lecture in pharmacy practice at the University of Sunderland, whilst continuing her work with Sunderland Hospital Rheumatology department.
