Professional experience and particular interests:

Mary has spent most of her professional practice in hospital pharmacy. She has been Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Director at a large District General Hospital for the last 18 years. Her particular interests have been around education, workforce, and staff wellbeing, medication safety and promoting digital pharmacy.

Mary was a Pre-Registration pharmacist tutor for over 15 years and has been a member of an oversight board for a Pre-Registration training delivery programme (for both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians) and a member of the East of England Pharmacy Workforce Group/Council.

She also spent two years chairing the NHS Digital Medicines Data Board and during that time was also a member of the RPS Digital Forum. She was actively involved in the first Health Foundation Safer Patients Initiative (SPI) and has presented to national conferences on patient safety initiatives, use of GS1 standards to support digital pharmacy and enhance safety, and implementing ePMA.
