Scottish Pharmacy Board

We champion the role of pharmacy in Scottish healthcare at all levels and in all sectors – working with the NHS, politicians, government, academia, the voluntary sector and many other organisations.

We’re proud to advocate on behalf of every RPS member in Scotland, working to get recognition for pharmacists’ role as the experts in medicines.

The Scottish Pharmacy Board are your representatives: they are elected by RPS members in Scotland. Board members are all pharmacists. They provide expertise and insight into what matters to the pharmacy profession in Scotland. The Board then shapes and directs the work of the RPS team in Scotland to meet these needs, and provides leadership for the profession in Scotland.

Andrew Carruthers, Scottish Pharmacy Board Chair

How can the Board help me?

RPS members can raise issues they are concerned about with Board members. Board members may bring these to the RPS Scotland team or raise them at meetings. Board members advocate for pharmacy, speaking up about issues affecting the profession.

How is the Board elected?

Every National Board member is elected by you, every two years.

For information about the Board election process, see [separate page]
