Richard Shearer MRPharmS

Richard is the Lead Pharmacist for Advanced Clinical Services in NHS Lanarkshire and principally involved in the implementation and development of the pharmacotherapy service in line with the GP contract.

After graduating from Strathclyde University, he began his career in Community Pharmacy for six years, before moving to Primary Care in 2016. Here, Richard has completed his Independent Prescribing qualification and then completed a diploma in Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Practice from Queen's University Belfast. 

He has a keen interest in education and has acted as a facilitator for NES Foundation Training Year (formally PRPS) as well as previously being a Pre-Registration Exam Question Writer with GPhC.

Richard is a member of the NHS Lanarkshire Area Pharmaceutical Committee and also Professional Secretary of the Scottish Practice Pharmacy & Prescribing Advisers Association Practice Pharmacy Subgroup.
