After qualifying from Portsmouth University Liz returned home to Wales to complete her pre reg in community pharmacy in the Rhondda Valley. Following pre reg she embarked on a pharmacist branch management role.Embracing the challenges that this role encompasses She relished being part of a local community and  working as part of a team to be able to positively affect patients health .

This passion for directly improving patient health led her to a change in career, to a role in primary care as a practice based clinical pharmacist in ABUHB.

She has worked in a variety of GP practices and has gained both her Diploma and Independent prescribing in this time.

MDT collaborative working has been central to this role and she recognizes the importance of fostering links across all sectors.

During the pandemic she was redeployed to the Mass Vaccination Programme. On returning to GP practice she looked to expand her IP into women's health focussing on menopause, an area that she is passionate about.

She is looking forward  to starting a new role in 2023 as Prescribing Advisor in Monmouthshire and lead Prison Pharmacist.

The pharmacy profession and the NHS are working in unprecedented times. Liz is determined to highlight both what pharmacy can achieve when supported and the challenges that we face.
