Ruth Mitchell MRPharmS

Ruth-Mitchell

Welsh Pharmacy Board Vice-Chair

Community sector

Ruth has been a community pharmacist for just over 25 years.

Ruth has enjoyed working in various roles in community pharmacy, from front-line patient-centered care to leading big teams of other pharmacy professionals and healthcare colleagues. She said that she has been privileged to work mostly in Wales, but also in England, during this exciting time of change for pharmacy.

She has dabbled in hospital pharmacy and the new role of cluster pharmacy in Wales to better understand how best to work together for patients.

Ruth has also tutored many pre-registration trainees, students and pharmacy technicians over the years and has watched with pride as they have taken the profession forward. Seeing how the profession is changing and being able to influence and shape what it looks like, as well as sharing the vision with others to inspire them to really practice at the top of their professional capacity, is what she loves doing.

Bringing the profession into the forefront of the multidisciplinary team and ensuring integrated care to prevent ill health and care through illness is what you will find Ruth doing in the future.
