NIHR e-Learning for Clinicians Module Lead  (Self-employed consultant)

Contract type: Fixed contract for delivery of set activities

Location: Remote working (home based)

We have an exciting opportunity within our Education and Professional Development team for experienced researchers to provide consultancy services. The RPS is being funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to develop a series of bespoke e-learning modules with the purpose of developing research capability and capacity amongst Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians by Summer 2022. The resources are mainly intended for those who have not followed or are beginning an academic career path and/or who have little or no experience of research delivery.

As a Module Lead, with recognised research expertise, you would oversee the development of short 45-minute interactive module(s) in collaboration with the RPS team in line with the e-learning style guide. You would advise on appropriate and relevant content for the module as well as suggesting case studies as examples of research in practice. Our research team and e-learning partner will draft content and configure the materials into the module. You would have involvement in peer review of the module series to facilitate coherence, minimise risk of duplication and ensure content is appropriate for the target audience as well as the ongoing evaluation and review of the module.

You should be an experienced researcher with a clear understanding of different research methods and show an understanding of the research development needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. You must possess experience of designing or developing teaching or training materials.

The ability to manage your own schedule and workload, and complete activities within defined deadlines is also essential to the role.

What we offer

This is a home-based opportunity with work being flexible to suit your commitments and the needs of the RPS.

This is a consultancy role with a fixed payment for delivery in accordance with the role description and module(s) schedule. All applicants must hold their own professional indemnity insurance for their consultancy services.

We promote equal opportunities and encourage applications from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic candidates, and people from non-pharmacy backgrounds.

If you would like to learn more about the role, please view the Application Pack or for any other questions contact Sarah Crawshaw, Clinical Fellow, at [email protected].

To apply for the role, please submit a CV and application form to [email protected]

Closing date for applications: 5pm on 5 November 2021

Fee per Module: £500 in 2022 (payable on final sign off of the module) and £125 in each of 2023 and 2024.

Applicants may apply for more than one Module Lead position.
