Responsibilities include providing vision and effective leadership for the strategic planning, development, co-ordination and delivery of medicines management and clinical pharmacy services across the Clinical Board. CAVUHB is amongst the UK’s busiest NHS organisations, employing 14,500 staff (approx 250 in pharmacy) and providing primary and secondary healthcare services for 445,000 residents of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, and tertiary services to the local community and across NHS Wales. We are a teaching Health Board with strong links to Cardiff University, boasting a high profile teaching, research and development role within the UK and abroad.
My professional career began with a strong grounding in community pharmacy, but has been predominantly within the NHS, focused on roles involved in direct patient care.
