Please find below details of an upcoming training event by the MPPN. Free to members, email [email protected]
Please find attached the programme for the MPPN’s second training workshop: “Essential Dermatology - Everyday Skin Management for Primary Care”. The event will be held on Tuesday 13th March 2018 at 442 Bar, Aspray Arena, Noose Lane, Willenhall WV13 3BB, UK (www.442bar.com).
This event is FREE to attend for registered members of the MPPN and we have 40 spaces available to those of you who wish to participate. Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
This workshop aims to provide the essential information to enable practice-based pharmacists as members of the wider primary care team to cope with the vast majority of skin conditions encountered in day-to-day general practice.
- Up to 25% of all primary care consultations relate to the skin
- Dermatology is an area of medicine that is facing major changes from secondary to primary care
- The majority of practice-based pharmacists have little or no formal training in dermatology
- Hospital referral rates for dermatology are consistently high
The training is RCGP accredited and will be provided by the Primary Care Dermatology Society (http://www.pcds.org.uk/), an independent educational organisation of GPs with an interest in dermatology. Registration will be at 8:30 am and we aim to finish at 4:15pm.
If you wish to attend please reply by email to me, listing any special dietary requirements. If you are not yet a member of the MPPN please complete the attached form and arrange for the payment of the £10 membership fee as per the instructions on the form.
The event is open to all clinical pharmacists or pharmacy technicians directly employed or contracted with a general practice in the Midlands. Please feel free to circulate details of the workshop and MPPN membership to any colleagues you feel may be interested in attending.
This meeting is sponsored by Takeda UK Ltd., Napp Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Bayer plc, Thornton & Ross Ltd., Synergy Biologics Ltd., Consilient Health Ltd., and Lilly UK / Boehringer Ingelheim UK., who will have exhibition stand space at the meeting. None of the companies have had any input into the content of the programme; and have had no involvement in choosing, briefing or paying the speakers:
