Pharmacy access to patient electronic health records provides a way to access patient information required to provide pharmacy services.
Various electronic health records are used by pharmacists in daily practice - from the patient medication records that are in routine use in pharmacies, to the national summary records that are being rolled out and piloted in some areas. Information on the national summary care records in each country can be found on the support resource section of our website under electronic health records.
Rollout has now commenced on the implementation of SCR in to community pharmacies by Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC), commissioned by NHS England, and is expected to be completed by Autum 2017.
More information can be found on the support resource section of our website under electronic health records.
