Interesting January 2018 conference on gender equality and pay in the UK, with discussion of related issues. The background information published to promote the meeting is worth reading regardless of any intention to intend.
Outside the public sector, many pharmacists are employed by small employers. This reduces availability of data and the chances for collective action. It also reduces collective awareness of regulations, rights and opportunities. The threshold for reporting pay gap data is 250 employees.
The meeting looks highly relevant to pharmacy, but will anyone from the profession attend?
(The above is is not intended to suggest that small pharmacy employers are necessarily poor employers - it's just that nobody knows!)
