I've just started working in care homes and as I have a hospital background I was surprised to find I haven't yet found a care home with a list to aid identification of cytostatic or cytotoxic meds that should be disposed of as purple-lidded cytotoxic waste e.g. chloramphenicol preps, finasteride, tamoxifen, oestrogens, progesteogens, Prostap etc. Nursing homes can be penalised for failing to correctly identify and separate waste. So for anyone else in the same boat who doesn't have access to a list there is a link on the psnc website to an example list from 2013 in the Appendix of DOH website 'safe management of healthcare waste' https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa...
