I wonder whether anyone has had a successful outcome with addressing the amount of space warning information on MAR charts in care homes takes up? Care homes have been complaining that medication entries on MAR charts are taking up 2 and sometimes even 3 medication boxes - due to the warning labels; this creates multiple MAR charts per resident for staff to review at each medication round. They want to get rid of all warning information on MAR charts (but leave on the dispensed medication box/ MDS label). I am not keen on this approach due to possible increased risk of administration errors. The community pharmacy have been asked if they can re-word/ redesign so that the additional information takes up less space - but state they are unable to. Has anyone else successfully managed to resolve this issue?
