Can anyone tell me please if there is any policy which determines whether or not a CD can be included with all the other drugs in a Venalink system for a care home patient? The issue has arisen where they can't put the Venalink in the CD cabinet because it contains other drugs, but they need to sign and countersign the administration of that drug, and keep it locked away - the patient does not self administer the other meds. I would have thought it was bad practice, if not illegal, to dispense a CD in such a system. Am I right?
