To RPS members in Birmingham and Solihull – message sent on behalf of Richard Seal, Lead – RPS Birmingham and Solihull
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society is entering an exciting new phase in the development of support for its members locally with the appointment of Robbie Turner as national Director for England and Gareth Kitsonas the Professional Development and Engagement Lead.
I have acted as lead for RPS Birmingham and Solihull for the past seven years following the creation of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2010. At the time of my appointment, my intention was to provide leadership and offer support and a voice for local members nationally until the the Local Practice Forum (LPF) for Birmingham and Solihull was established. I had originally envisaged that this would be for a period of two or possibly three years.
For a variety of personal reasons, I think now is an appropriate time for me to step aside to enable someone else to lead RPS Birmingham and Solihull into the next exciting phase of its development.
Therefore, we have started a process of identifying and appointing the next lead for RPS Birmingham and Solihull; this will be facilitated by the local engagement staff at the RPS.
I have very much enjoyed and personally benefited from my time as RPS lead and I have been supported magnificently by a great team of people on our steering group. I feel that we have achieved much together, having won the RPS LPF of the Year Award on two occasions and piloted a number of innovations which have subsequently been adopted across the whole country.
We need to develop on this solid foundation and continue to support our members locally. Therefore, if you would like consider applying for the position or to know more about the local leadership role, please contact [email protected]in the first instance.
Kind regards and very best wishes for the future
Lead – RPS Birmingham and Solihull
