Pharmacy has an important role to play in the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults because of its accessibility and relative anonymity compared with the local GP surgery. Members of the pharmacy team are well placed to spot signs of potential safeguarding situations, such as physical abuse, sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation.
Come and join us at the Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults workshop and hear an expert speaker summarise the background and policy surrounding safeguarding and the issues this raises for pharmacy professionals and highlight the situations in which the pharmacy team are best placed to observe the signs of abuse, neglect or CSE and the legal issues to consider when making a referral.
