Help your patients quit smoking in 2019

Join in the January campaign

It’s not too late to join in with Public Health England’s Smokefree Health Harms campaign, now in its seventh year.

The campaign to help patients quit smoking in the New Year launches on 28th December and runs throughout January 2019.

Smokefree offers a great opportunity to boost quit attempts and PHE have made available a campaign toolkit to help community pharmacy teams encourage smokers to quit.

The toolkit comprises:

  • 1 x pharmacy activation guide
  • 2 x A4 posters
  • 50 x A5 leaflets
  • 1 x A5 leaflet dispenser

The toolkit also includes an activation guide, which gives an overview of the campaign and information on how community pharmacy teams can get involved.  If you want your team to take part, you can order the toolkit from the PHE Campaign Resource Centre.

RPS England Board Chair Sandra Gidley said: “Quitting smoking is the single most important thing a smoker can do to improve their health. Smoking cessation services from community pharmacies, along with stop smoking aids, provide a high chance of success and demonstrate yet again the value that community pharmacies bring to communities.”
