Help raise awareness of diabetes risk

Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Week is a joint campaign from NHS England, Public Health England and Diabetes UK. It's part of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme and aims to raise awareness of Type 2 diabetes, complications associated with the condition, who is at risk and how to prevent it. This year the campaign runs from 1-7 April.

Pharmacists can play an important role in the prevention and early detection of diabetes, and in supporting people to manage their medicines.  You can order a free Diabetes Prevention Week toolkit which includes everything you need to run a Type 2 diabetes prevention event during the week, including posters, leaflets, ‘How do you measure up?’ tape measures and more.

There are additional digital resources including social media images and videos available from the PHE Campaign Resource Centre. New resources aimed at the BME population will also be available in the coming months including leaflets in other languages which organisations can download and print locally. You can join in the social conversation using #PreventingType2.
