Supply disruption to Becton Dickinson blood specimen collection products (England)

Pharmacists working in primary and community care, acute trusts, community hospitals and mental health trusts are advised to be aware of an NHS England and Improvement update (26th August 2021) regarding further measures to mitigate supply disruption to Becton Dickinson (BD) blood specimen collection products.

The update introduces new measures to preserve stock for urgent use, by asking primary and community providers to restrict usage until the 17th September 2021 to clinically urgent situations.

Secondary care providers are asked to reduce usage by 25% until the 17th September 2021.

Further details are described within the update.
