Locums to be covered by life assurance scheme

The Government has confirmed to RPS that locums in England are covered by the new death in service benefit for frontline NHS key workers during COVID-19.

This follows an earlier clarification from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care that the scheme will extend to pharmacy teams as well as pharmacists, including registered pharmacy technicians, dispensing assistants, medicine counter assistants and those in training for those roles.
