Public Health England (PHE) will be launching three new year health campaigns in January 2017 and is encouraging community pharmacy teams to support them by promoting them to their patients and the wider public. The campaigns are:
One You: New Year, New You
National campaign to leverage the natural uplift in people’s interest in making healthy changes at New Year and re-deploy the proven and highly successful ‘How Are You?’ health engagement quiz used during the One You launch.
A campaign to encourage people to quit smoking in the New Year. There are lots of Smokefree support tools on offer to help your customers quit successfully. They are designed to complement any smoking cessation activity you may have planned or advice you are giving in January.
Every year there are thousands of cases of sepsis in the UK, some of which result in death. What’s more, a high number of these cases are children. That’s why PHE are running a national campaign to support earlier diagnosis of sepsis by improving knowledge of the infection, its symptoms and when to seek urgent healthcare advice, amongst parents/carers of children age 0 – 4.
A toolkit has been developed for each of these campaigns to help community pharmacies promote health and wellbeing messages in branch.
You can place an order or pre-order a toolkit by calling 0300 123 1019. The order line will be open Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm, until 08 May 2016 or whilst stocks last.
