RPS Chief Executive Paul Bennett opens annual conference
Opening the RPS Annual Conference at The Vox Birmingham, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s new Chief Executive, Paul Bennett, set out a commitment to engaging with members and outlined his priorities for the coming year.
Speaking to around 500 delegates from across the pharmacy profession, he highlighted that the decision to open up access to the Conference to all members signalled the RPS commitment “to making sure we see more of you, and that you see, hear and experience more of what the Society has to offer”.
Paul talked about the RPS ambition to build a dialogue with political leaders about the future of the profession and recognised the challenges facing everyone working in healthcare.
He announced the appointment of a new Chief Scientist and Deputy Chief Scientist, underlining the commitment to Science and Research within the Society.
He also commented on the General Pharmaceutical Council’s proposed revalidation process and assured members that the Society will be ready to help all pharmacists meet this new challenge and continue their professional development.
