RPS Fellows interviewed by BBC1's Rip Off Britain

RPS Fellows Professors Jayne Lawrence and Theo Raynor have featured in BBC 1’s Rip Off Britain talking about branded and generic medicines.

Interviewed by a patient, Jayne and Theo said that branded and generic products are the same if the dose of the drug and the formulation are exactly the same.

They also explained that medicines can’t target pain in specific parts of the body and that all medicines in the UK are made to the same high standards, so both branded and generic medicine are safe and effective.
