Last night, RPS in Scotland hosted its first Quality Roadshow event in Edinburgh.
The main aim of the event was to highlight the importance of quality improvement in pharmacy practice. During the event, more than 30 pharmacy professionals had the chance to hear about the increased value of reporting, sharing and learning from pharmacy errors as well as to engage in an interactive workshop using quality improvement tools.
“We are delighted by the success of our first Pharmacy Quality Roadshow in Edinburgh. We had great participation and we are looking forward to see more of these events coming together in the next few months across Scotland”, commented Alex MacKinnon, RPS Director for Scotland.
The Pharmacy Quality Roadshows are a collaboration between key strategic bodies within Scotland who have a common aim of driving improvement in the quality of pharmacy services and practice in response to the Rebalancing Programme.
RPS has committed with the Department of Health (DH) and the Scottish Government to raise awareness of the Rebalancing of Pharmacy Legislation (providing a defence against inadvertent dispensing errors) and to support the changes in pharmacy practice and culture required.
To take this forward RPS in Scotland, NHS Education for Scotland (NES), Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS), Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) and the ALLIANCE are working collaboratively with the Directors of Pharmacy.
The next Quality Roadshow in Scotland will be hosted in Glasgow on 30th November. Please email the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde team at [email protected]
