Scottish Pharmacy Board affirms Dr John McAnaw for third term as Chair
Dr John McAnaw affirmed as Chair of the Scottish Pharmacy Board for a third term.
The RPS in Scotland is delighted to announce that the Scottish Pharmacy Board has affirmed Dr John McAnaw for a third term as Chair.
Speaking after his affirmation John said: “I am delighted and humbled to have received the support from my colleagues for a third term as Chair of the Scottish Pharmacy Board. It has been a privilege serving over the past two years, but I am clear that I want our professional body to achieve more for its members and the wider profession. I will continue to strengthen the Scottish identity within RPS in a way that is clearly visible to Scottish members, and clearly demonstrate what is being delivered for Scotland's pharmacists.
“We are facing some significant pieces of work both in Scotland and across Great Britain and I will continue to ensure that the Board considers the implications of Board decisions on England and Wales (and vice versa), and that GB-wide policy and advice reflects the Scottish perspective. Where there is imbalance, I will challenge it and champion a joined-up approach.”
The Scottish Pharmacy Board also elected new Board Member Jonathan Burton to serve as Vice-Chair and David Thomson to continue to serve as the Scottish Pharmacy Board’s Assembly representative alongside John McAnaw.
