Statement on employment tribunal

As a result of recent social media activity, RPS members and employees may be aware of an Employment Tribunal claim against RPS.

We will always endeavour to resolve issues amicably but where these are vexatious and unfounded we will use all available avenues to protect the resources of the organisation.

We will always challenge allegations, which after a fair and robust process are shown to be unfounded, to ensure the integrity of our work to support an inclusive and diverse profession.

A recent claim by an ex-employee was considered by RPS to be entirely vexatious and unfounded.  Shortly before the employment tribunal hearing was due to take place, the claimant voluntarily and unconditionally withdrew her claims without any payment or commitment from RPS. We exercised our right to recover costs but we were not successful. We consider this matter closed.

RPS remains committed to providing a working environment that is supportive and inclusive for all its employees. We can assure all members and employees that RPS takes any issues raised seriously and has very robust policies and procedures in place to investigate and, where appropriate, address any workplace issues.
