Update of RPS Professional Standards for Hospital Pharmacy Services

RPS is updating its professional standards for hospital* pharmacy services. The standards are relevant to hospital pharmacy services across Great Britain (GB) and support the development of safe, quality services that put patients and their needs first.

Supportive, enabling and professionally challenging the standards give a broad framework to be used by Chief Pharmacists, Directors of Pharmacy and their teams to develop and  improve services, and to shape future services and pharmacy roles in order to deliver quality patient care.

It is expected that the standards update will be completed before the end of 2017. If you would like to get involved with the update register now by emailing [email protected] and join the external reference group supporting the update. Regular webinars will update you on progress with updating and you’ll be able to comment on drafts of the standards.

* Also relevant to providers of pharmacy services in or to acute, mental health, private, community service, prison, hospice and ambulance settings
