What the cell? Unlocking diagnostics, metrics and big data - the new era of stewardship

This event has been designed for primary and secondary care pharmacists involved in the care of patients with infections and for those working in the area of antimicrobial stewardship. The event is suitable for pharmacists who have recently specialised as well as those who are working at early advanced levels.
This day will cover aspects of antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial stewardship, management of clinical infections and data. The day will focus on issues predominant in secondary and primary care Patients coming to hospital with infections often present with a variety of challenges, including resistant organisms, deterioration and not responding to first line treatment, or other complications. As a pharmacist you are optimally placed to intervene for the benefit of your patients and manage medication risks.
A wide range of topical areas will be covered such as Gram negative bacteraemias, the impact of behaviour change on antibiotic prescribing, difficulties of antibiotic procurement and a not to be missed session on influenza: predicted strains for winter 2018/2019.
