Jonathan Lloyd Jones has been appointed as the new Practice and Policy Lead for Wales. This important role supports national policy development, professional advocacy and member engagement across Wales.

After studying his MPharm at Cardiff University and completing his pre-reg year in Manchester, Jon gained extensive experience working throughout Wales as both a locum pharmacist and manager in community pharmacy. A qualified independent prescriber, he used his training to provide an enhanced minor ailments scheme and build an effective services-led pharmacy.

His innovative approaches to service improvement throughout his career have been deservedly recognised, and in 2018, he won both the Independent Community Pharmacy Practice of the Year Award with his colleagues at Sheppards Pharmacists in Aberdare, and the Independent Pharmacy Collaborative Working Award.

Commenting on Jon’s appointment, RPS Director of Pharmacy and Member Experience Robbie Turner said:
“I’m delighted that Jon will be joining RPS in January 2020. His experience and passion for our profession will help us continue to progress pharmacy both in Wales and across Great Britain. I know he is eager to work closely with members to put them at the centre of RPS policy development in Wales.”
