The Error Reporting Professional Standards is currently undergoing a review. Updates will be avaible on this page.

April - June 2023

A public consultation ran from Friday 21 April until Friday 2 June 2023. The consultation is now closed and results are being reviewed - https://www.rpharms.com/recognition/setting-professional-standards/error-reporting-professional-standards/consultation.

The professional standards describe good practice and good systems of care for reporting, learning sharing, taking action and review of incidents (error reporting) as part of a patient safety culture. Their implementation will improve patient safety and the quality of pharmaceutical services.

They have been developed by the RPS, APTUK and the Pharmacy Forum of UK with the support of an expert steering group and public consultation.

Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and the wider pharmacy team across the United Kingdom will find these standards the most useful.
They may also be of interest to the public, to people who use pharmacy and healthcare services, healthcare professionals working with pharmacy teams, regulators and commissioners of pharmacy services.
