RPS Ambassador Umeh Ali
Being a motivated pharmacist with a real passion for patient wellbeing, healthcare and medicines optimisation, I have been extremely fortunate to have experienced pharmacy in both primary and secondary care.
I graduated with a Master of Pharmacy degree from Keele University in 2015. After completing my pre-registration year, I worked as a community pharmacist for both Lloyds Pharmacy and Boots. Currently I work as a medicines management pharmacist for Birmingham and Solihull CCG.
My role involved reviewing medication, to reduce unnecessary polypharmacy and work with the local GPs, to ensure patients get the most out of their medicines. I had always wanted to extend my clinical role, which ultimately led me to a career in primary care.
I am truly elated to have been appointed the role of a RPS ambassador. The role allows me to share my various experiences and support others by representing pharmacy in today’s dynamic healthcare settings.
