What we do

We deliver practice development and hot topic events in Grampian.

We aim to support opportunities that meet the needs of all our members, from all professional backgrounds.

Working with the RPS team and local members, I:

  • Coordinate the delivery of local events
  • Develop RPS in Grampian as the focus for innovation, inter and intra-professional practice development, quality in practice and research
  • Support the development of RPS in Grampian as an opportunity for networking, mentoring and engagement in RPS professional programmes

Over the past 12 months, our events have covered topics including:

  • Revalidation
  • Menopause and women's health
  • Antimicrobial stewardship

If you have a project or a local initiative you would like to share at an RPS event, please email us at [email protected]

Who I am

I started my career in hospital pharmacy in Aberdeen’s Woodend Hospital after completing my pre-registration year at Kings College Hospital London. After taking on some extra work as a locum in community pharmacy, I moved full-time into this field and spent the next few years in a busy high street pharmacy.

I then took a break to travel around Asia and Australia. While in Australia, I registered in two states and worked as a pharmacist to fund my travels. On returning to the UK in 2003, I worked as a locum before becoming a substance misuse pharmacist.

I have been fortunate to work across many sectors of pharmacy including hospital, community and primary care. I have gained a wealth of experience in my current specialist field of addictions both from the clinicians and teams I have worked with and nationally through collaborating with the Specialist Pharmacists in Substance Misuse group for Scotland.

How can I hear more from my local group?

It's easy - sign up for our events newsletter in your My RPS Communications Preferences.
