Hi, I'm Mike Wallington, the RPS Local Coordinator for Cardiff and Vale.
A little bit about me. I have been qualified for 25+ years (!), and I love being a Pharmacist. I have spent most of my working life with Boots, in various management and field roles but have always enjoyed the day to day patient contact that community pharmacy brings.
My current role is Pharmacist Manager of Boots in Sanatorium Road, Cardiff. Outside working life, I love hiking, cycling, football, travelling and family life.
We all know the role of a Pharmacist in Wales is becoming more rewarding, and challenging, by the day. The opportunities are there for us in all sectors of the profession, but it can feel lonely sometimes. The RPS is there to help on your professional journey and I am really energised to help develop a network that can support you.
Please let me know how you would like the RPS in Cardiff and Vale to work for you!
What we do
RPS Cardiff and Vale gives you the chance to develop and support fellow pharmacists who live and work in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, as well as an opportunity to build a professional network.
We aim to deliver events and support opportunities that meet the needs of all our members, from all professional backgrounds.
We usually hold our events in or around Cardiff, but we do often move to other venues to allow members from all Cardiff and Vale areas to get involved.
Over the past 12 months, our events have covered topics including:
- Mental Health
- Leadership and Resilience
How can I hear more from my local group?
It's easy - make sure you're signed up to the events newsletter in your My RPS Communications Preferences.
If you're on Facebook, why not join our Cardiff and Vale group - be sure to say hi!
