COVID-19 staff testing

England

NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) have issued a letter on COVID-19 testing.

From 1st April 2022, patient-facing staff should continue to test twice weekly when asymptomatic. Lateral flow device (LFD) tests will continue to be available through the gov.uk portal for NHS staff working in a patient-facing role.

Further details and advice on staff testing can be found on the NHS England and NHS Improvement website

Scotland

Guidance on the routine asymptomatic testing of NHS Scotland staff, to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 states all healthcare workers should continue to test twice weekly using a lateral flow device.

Further details and advice for NHS Scotland staff can be found on the Scottish government website

Wales

All public-facing health and social care staff in Wales are strongly recommended to do a LFT twice a week. Where possible staff should test themselves at home in good time before a shift, so that cover can be arranged if the test is positive.
