First complete online learning platform for pharmacy schools

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has launched a revolutionary new digital platform to help pharmacy schools personalise their teaching and to enable students to achieve success in the MPharm degree.

Pharmacy Knowledge will enable tutors to create and share bespoke reading lists from 1,000 online modules, add additional information to supplement students’ learning and monitor progress in real time.

The platform converts 58 core pharmacy textbooks – including Essentials of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dale and Appelbe's Pharmacy and Medicines Law and Drugs in Use – into a transformative digital resource, with learning packages specially curated to ensure students can better understand a wide range of core subject and therapeutic areas.

Pharmacy Knowledge will be regularly updated to reflect changes in practice, ensuring it remains the most current pharmacy learning resource on the market and providing academic institutions a breadth of content at a competitive annual subscription price.

Institutions will be able to create customised content specific to their needs and with unified access from any device in any location. Students will also have the freedom to create their own personal reading lists, take self-assessment tests and compare their progress with their peers.

Pharmacy Knowledge can be integrated with other platforms like Moodle and Blackboard, and features links to other critical resources such as the British National Formulary, NICE guidelines and The Pharmaceutical Journal.

Tony Scully, Publisher, said: “Pharmacy Knowledge will provide a new learning environment in which pharmacy students can access timely education content designed to reflect the challenges faced by practicing pharmacists in any setting – it presents a future-facing approach to learning and development. The platform is also part of a wider strategy that allows us to provide newer types of relevant content for lecturers and students a lot more quickly and cost effectively.
