RPS Member Sanjay Doegar welcomed Prime Minister Boris Johnson to his pharmacy last week to discuss the important role that pharmacy is playing tackling COVID-19.
Mr Doegar, owner of Ruislip Manor Pharmacy, facilitated the visit, as he and Mr Johnson spoke about the situation of pharmacy during the pandemic and what it means for the long-term potential of the profession.
Mr Doegar said:
“I was delighted to welcome the Prime Minister to my pharmacy and show him first-hand the incredible work we continue to do during the covid-19 pandemic. Our profession deserves to be recognised for our role within the NHS and with a potential second-wave and a demanding winter ahead, it’s crucial that we get the support and funding we need.”
Claire Anderson, Chair of the English Pharmacy Board, said:
“Pharmacists across the country continue to do such a vital job during the pandemic and to get recognition from the most senior British politician is incredibly important. It is critical that we, as a profession, continue to champion the role of community pharmacy with key stakeholders and secure much needed investment so we can continue to improve patient care.”
