Strategic partnership between RPS and the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria have agreed to form a strategic partnership to facilitate their shared vision to lead, develop and support the Pharmacy profession to improve patient care for the benefit of patients and the public.

To effect the partnership, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed by both societies at the forthcoming 79th World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences being hosted by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from 22 – 26 September 2019.

RPS President Sandra Gidley said “the RPS establishes such agreements for mutual benefit, to advance the Pharmacy profession globally”.

PSN President Sam Ohuabunwa said “this initiative will consolidate the historical ties between our organisations and promote the patient safety agenda.”

FIP-UNESCO-UNITWIN Advocacy Lead Professor Oweikumo Eradiri said, “I am delighted to see such partnerships for patient safety being formed, as they will bolster the Pharmacy profession in achieving targets set by the World Health Organisation’s 3rd Global Patient Safety Challenge on Medication Without Harm.”
