Submitting an AGM motion

If you'd like to submit a motion for discussion at the next RPS AGM, press the button below and complete the submissions form.

But remember:

  • Only Members (MRPharmS) and Fellows (FRPharmS) can submit motions for the AGM
  • If you submit a motion, you must attend the meeting online OR confirm a member to speak on your behalf in advance.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, 1 May 2024.

Top tips to get you started

  • Keep it short and to the point – there’s a 250-word maximum for motions
  • Use two parts. Let the first part briefly describe the problem you seek to address - and why you think change is needed; let the second part give the solution. You can use bullet-points
  • Do your homework. Make sure you’re familiar with the subject matter and that what you’re saying is factually correct and is a matter that falls within the remit of the RPS
  • Keep facts and figures to a minimum; if you’re referring to a publication, don’t assume everyone has read it
  • Be concise - stick to one or two points
  • Make sure you’re getting the point you intended across. Get feedback from colleagues/friends before submitting and presenting
  • Do not make any personal attacks
  • Be realistic
  • Don’t be afraid to get involved - this is your chance to have your say on what matters to you.
