Thank you. Thank you for everything you are doing and continue to do over this extremely busy period.
Wherever you work or volunteer we appreciate the impact you are having on patient care. Patients rely on you and we are so proud of the work you are doing.
We cannot underestimate the incredible work of pharmacists in all settings who have ensured patients have continued access to medicines and advice throughout the pandemic.
You are ensuring patients get the best from their medicines; prescribing, advising the public and other health professionals, teaching our future pharmacists, developing new medicines, running and supporting clinical trials. Wherever you are, you are integral to our profession.
Pharmacy teams have worked behind the scenes to lead and deliver the complex logistics of the Covid vaccination programme and now the roll out of COVID-19 antiviral programme. We are grateful to them and to every pharmacy team in every setting for their dedication to patient care at this challenging time. It is fantastic to hear pharmacy mentioned in the media so often and to see greater recognition of the work that you do.
We know the toll the pandemic is taking on you and your families, and we will continue to fight to get you the support you deserve.
We are privileged to represent you and we want to continue to hear about your concerns and successes next year. It has been such an honour to help share the work that you do and to make sure that it is not just people within the profession who are aware of it.
We wish you and your families as enjoyable Christmas as possible and a very Happy New Year.
Together we are pharmacy.
