Education and training is crucial to the future of our profession. It’s also key to meeting the healthcare needs of an ageing population – in a time of real cost constraints.
We want to see a pharmacy workforce that anticipates patient demands. We’re calling for a transformation in pharmaceutical education and training.
The pharmacy workforce needs to further develop its clinical capability from foundation through to advanced practice. Most importantly, it needs a flexible and adaptable workforce to deal with changing patient and healthcare needs.
That’s why we advocate for a needs-based approach to workforce education and development.
Since 2010, we’ve helped develop the pharmacy workforce with best practice standards and support for trainee pharmacists.
