Lucy has unique historical and current cross-sector experience. She qualified in 2003 and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy in 2008 from Robert Gordon University. She has been a practicing Independent Prescriber since 2009 and has undertaken advanced Quality Improvement training.

Lucy has worked in Primary Care since 2010, has been in her current role as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist for five years and is the Pharmacy Falls Lead for NHS Highland. She provides clinical pharmacy services to several remote and rural GP practices and older age residential homes and two community hospitals, which recently included a specialist Older Age Psychiatry ward. As a senior pharmacist, she has experience in policy and service development.

Lucy has been an independent community pharmacy co-contractor since 2006 helping to deliver extended pharmacy services on the high-street in remote and rural communities. In her Scottish Government role, she leads and contributes towards the development and delivery of digital support tools, including the Scottish Therapeutics Utility. Her aim now is to help to bring all sectors of pharmacy together to enable and promote a truly holistic, integrated and patient centred service.
