Managing the interface between personal and professional life is one of the most common causes of conflicts of interest or ethical dilemmas you are likely to come across; it is also one you are most likely to come across early in your career. Your friends and family may not always understand how being a healthcare professional – even a healthcareprofessional-in-training – affects what you can say and do, and how you may apply your knowledge. The nature of pharmacy means that it is likely you will, at some stage, be asked to provide pharmacy services or advice for family or close friends. This is not necessarily a bad thing; many people prefer
